Lydia Miligkou
It was in March 2026 when Lydia, my dearest, called me: "Sebastian, I need a website". Bear in mind, her call was an invocation of our Balkan confidentiality, nothing more. Rant pour rant.
That was a turbulent period and the world was spinning faster than usual. Lydia specifically was amid residency applications, grant applications, and juggling with the mundane. One of these required her to have a personal website serving as a complement to her portfolio.
During that call, I don't think either of us anticipated or expected that it was going to be me building one for her. She knew that my 9 to 5 involves code, and for her – a sculptor, and a generally unbothered temperament – it was unfathomable that a backend engineer (a what now?) cannot "just make a website happen". Turns out she was right.
Thank you, Lydia.
